Manchester United are keeping a close eye on young Belgian goalkeeper Senne Lammens after their senior goalkeepers have recently committed several costly mistakes.

The Red Devils, under the leadership of new manager Ruben Amorim, have been experiencing a turbulent season. While poor performances have plagued the entire squad, goalkeepers Andre Onana and Altay Bayindir have been under particular scrutiny.

Both keepers have conceded directly from corners in matches against Tottenham and Wolves, while Onana faced additional criticism for errors in games against Nottingham Forest and Viktoria Plzen earlier this month.

According to The Telegraph, United are looking to address these issues by introducing more competition for the goalkeeper position. Their target is highly-rated 22-year-old Lammens, who currently plays for Royal Antwerp and has reportedly attracted interest from Bundesliga sides like Borussia Dortmund. United scouts have been monitoring his performances, aiming to secure his signature before other clubs make a move.

While a January transfer is not expected to be a priority, the report suggests there could be potential activity in the summer, especially if Bayindir seeks opportunities elsewhere to gain more playing time.

Onana, who joined United from Inter Milan for £47 million last summer, has been heavily criticized for his string of errors. The former Ajax goalkeeper has made 76 appearances for the club so far.

The report also notes that United’s spending in the January transfer window will likely be restricted due to financial fair play regulations. However, there may be some departures.

Juventus is rumored to be interested in Joshua Zirkzee, who has struggled to adapt since his big-money move from Bologna in the summer. Meanwhile, Marcus Rashford has sparked transfer speculation after revealing in a surprising interview that he wants to leave the club following a challenging season. Rashford has been excluded from United’s last four matchday squads.

Despite Juventus’ reported interest in Zirkzee, the Italian club is not considering a move for Rashford. Instead, Rashford could potentially head to a Saudi club, as rumors suggest he is being pursued by teams outside of Europe.
